Yoga Classes

Come discover our classes! We offer a variety of classes that are diverse and special, with a selection of some of the best teachers in town.

Here are some details to give you an idea of what each class focuses on, what to expect, and what you will learn.

Vinyasa (Heated and Unheated)

60-75 minutes of flowing yoga sequences combining strength, flexibility, stamina, cardio, and concentration. The practice heals and detoxifies the body — soothing and invigorating the nervous system, balancing hormones, building cardiovascular strength and stamina, and improving the digestive and elimination systems. The variable nature of Vinyasa Yoga helps to develop a more balanced body as well as prevent repetitive motion injuries that can happen if you are always doing the same thing every day. All of our classes are dynamic and creative. We offer heated and unheated Vinyasa. The temperature of our heated Vinyasa class is set at approximately 90 degrees. Available to all levels of students.

Rocket Yoga

Rocket Yoga is a dynamic and fast-paced flow of yoga. The structure maintains that of Ashtanga Vinyasa, consisting of a warm up (Surya Namaskar A + B), after which one continues in the standing poses, seated poses, and ending with the traditional closing series. Another key quality of the Rocket Yoga System is the “Art of Modification.” Students are encouraged to make their own interpretation of the traditional asana and can remove or modify binding postures that tend to cause students to get stuck in the traditional series. This allows the Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga method to be accessible by all practitioners, even those who may have structural disabilities who would otherwise not be able to practice traditional Ashtanga Yoga methods.  Intermediate to Advanced level.

Heated Hatha

60 to 75 minutes of postures and breathing exercises designed to work every muscle, organ, and joint in the body. The practice builds strength, flexibility and balance and increases productivity in the cardiovascular and circulatory systems. In addition to building strength through elongation and extension of muscles, it detoxifies and tones the internal organs through compressions focused on the body’s key organs for elimination of waste and toxins. Hatha yoga classes veer away from the rigorous breath-to-movement flows more commonly found in Vinyasa, and focus on flowing the breath in static postures to be with them longer. These classes are dynamic and creative. The temperature of our Heated Hatha class is set at approximately 90 degrees. Available to all levels of students.

Restorative

Restorative yoga enables deep relaxation as you hold poses for longer periods of time with the help of props to completely support you. The aim is relaxing in poses, with the aid of props, without strain or pain, in order to achieve physical, mental and emotional relaxation.  The practice is very relaxing and slow paced. Props, like blocks, bolsters, blankets and straps are used so that you are supported in your pose comfortably. You will then hold the pose for an extended period of time. Restorative yoga helps to combat the physical and mental effects of everyday stress, and eases common ailments such as headaches, backaches, anxiety, and insomnia with the use of restful poses and deep breathing techniques. This practice is great to balance an active yoga schedule.

Meditation

Yoga means “to yoke or unite”, and the original yogis practiced in stillness, connecting to the higher self and the infinite divine. Today, we know that meditation and mindfulness heighten our awareness and help us to balance and navigate our lives in a more conscious way. But life moves fast, and our mind can be resistant to stillness. This class will teach you techniques and tools to tune out… and tune in. We’ll explore and experience methods from a variety of practices, featuring Breathwork and Guided Meditations, as well as the time and space to Just Be. Journals are recommended to capture concepts and revelations. Come as you are – street clothes welcomed.
